Divine Lore

Origins and Nature

Hisangard is the major goddess ruling the continent of Voleford, embodiment of conflict, reaction, and merit. Born from the primordial forces of the universe, she emerged as a goddess devoted to ascension, honor, and bravery.

Stemming from the energy and reactions of the world, the essence of conflict is to her the very essence of existence. The clash of forces is the source of her life, and the more complex the friction, the more she admires it.

"Power is measured against the other. Might is the confidence in your own power, without the need for others."

- Hisangard

The Four Cavaliers

Hisangard does not create her minor gods: she names them among her children who have achieved an admirable feat, thus earning one of the four possible titles at her side, the Cavaliers.

Berserk, Cavalier of War

His name comes from the Arenas where he had to fight to absolve himself of a crime. He has known nothing but combat and blood since early childhood. During the First Demon War, he held many fronts on the first lines, and even saved an entire coast of Silkiana from the demonic invasion, earning his place as a Cavalier. Yet he deeply despises Hisangard for abandoning his mother to misery, and trains for the day he will be able to challenge her.

Her Children: the Mixed-Bloods

Hisangard has many children, known as the Mixed-Bloods. They carry within them a potential that can be unleashed through bursts of violence. As such, Mixed-Bloods can technically remain dormant their whole life without ever unlocking this magical resource.

It is not rare for them to kill one another in order to absorb more mana from their divine mother, since her numerous offspring draw from one single source defined by her. In other words, with every birth, all of her non-Cavalier children lose power.
